Our Objectives
What we focus on
Education
Education is the factor for an enlightened society and a tool for advocacy. We are engaging government on building schools within the indigenous community.
Language documentation
Documentation of the indigenous Kumosop language is crucial and should be added to the national curriculum — if not documented, it is bound to disappear.
Health
Health centers within the indigenous community settlement should be constructed to help patients and mothers in labor access safe delivery.
Local employment
Employing staff from within the indigenous community so residents don't face long distances and late arrivals at places of work.
Our Vision
To live in a community that is peaceful with its people, free from marginalization or any kind of discrimination, while conserving their environment and coexisting with their livelihoods, health, education, employment and governance.
Our Mission
Benet Mosop Community Association was formed by the Mosopisiek community as a platform to air out their plight of marginalization, discrimination and human rights abuses committed against them when their ancestral homelands in the Mount Elgon forest and grasslands were turned into wildlife protected areas.
Stand with the Mosopisyek of Benet
Every contribution helps sustain land rights advocacy, health outreach, education and the preservation of Kumosop language and culture.
